Swimming Pool and Recreation Area Rules
The pool will officially open Memorial Day weekend. Pool hours for the season will be posted on the website prior to opening day.
In the event of inclement weather, or other necessities, the pool may be closed with the approval of a CMRA Board Member. If there is a thunderstorm, lifeguards will ask you to get out of the pool. You must wait 30 min. from the last strike of lightning to re-enter and when lifeguards say you can resume swimming.
The use of the recreation area and pool will be permitted only when a lifeguard is on duty.
Do not talk to lifeguards while they are on duty.
A fifteen minute rest period will be declared each hour. Adults, 18 years and older, and infants under 1 year of age accompanied by an adult may stay in pool unattended during break. All other swimmers MUST be out of the water and behind the red line.
Children 8 years of age and having passed the swim test can come to the pool on their own.
To swim in the deep end (9 ft.) you must pass the swim test with a lifeguard during the break. This test entails swimming the length of the shallow end pool, down and back without touching. Then the swimmer must tread water for 60 seconds without touching. Lifeguards have final discretion on all swimmers.
Members ONLY are allowed in CMRA facility.
Members are people living in household, grandparents, spouse, or grandchild of a FULL pool or FULL sponsored memberships.
Members may bring guests (2 years of age and under are free) and pay the fee: $5 per guest (all day swim pass), $2 after 4pm, $1 for non swimmers.
There are also guest pass sheets available for purchase: 6 for $20 (2 free), or 12 for $40 (4 free).
Guests are any NON member of CMRA pool membership.
A current member must accompany all guests to the pool and remain with their guests.
Any person who is a resident of Cuyahoga Manor #2, but not a member of CMRA is not eligible to be a guest.
Only one person on the diving board at a time.
Excessive bouncing on the board is prohibited.
Each diver must allow the previous diver to clear the area below the board before diving.
Do not swim through the diving area. No hanging or swimming under the diving board.
Diving is ONLY permitted from the front of the board. NO BOUNCING! 250 LB. LIMIT
No person can dive with an object in their hands.
During crowded conditions, lifeguards are allowed to restrict the use of the diving board.
No diving backwards or diving in the shallow area (5ft. and below).
No hanging on the rope that divides deep end from shallow end.
NO floaties in the deep end. Children who are wearing floaties MUST have a parent poolside.
Baby pool – No children over 5 years of age should be in the pool area, unless attending to a younger child.
NO running, pushing, wrestling, throwing people into the pool or disturbing other swimmers.
No drinks, gum, or food is allowed on cement apron. Keep it in the grass areas.
No smoking inside of gate property.
Any ball playing or tossing of retrieval rings, floats, or sinkers, will be allowed only by the discretion of the lifeguard.
No skateboards, scooters, or skating of any type will be permitted inside the gates of the CMRA pool facility. Bicycles belong in bike rack ONLY. Mobility scooter are allowed on premises.
Any person having a communicable disease, sore, skin disease, inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear drainage, excessive sunburn, wearing a bandage, or expulsion of any bodily waste will not be permitted in the pool.
Proper swimming apparel must be worn at all times while in the pool. No cutoffs allowed.
Individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be asked to leave the pool if it is determined by the lifeguard that they pose a safety threat.
No display of alcoholic beverages. Please conceal them.
No profanity or sexually explicit content allowed.
No physical display of affection is allowed that would make lifeguards or swimmers uncomfortable. You will be asked to stop (this is your first warning) and then asked to leave the premises (second time) and a board member will be notified.
Domestic animals, unless otherwise permitted by law, are prohibited at the pool.
Chairs are for sitting only and may NOT be used for horseplay or taken into the pool.
All trash is to be disposed of properly in designated trash cans. Failure to comply will result in suspension of pool privileges.
Members may make reservations to rent the pool for private parties and must attend. Please click on link in membership area on website for a Pavilion Rental Agreement.
Complaints
Must be addressed in writing to the CMRA Board Members. The complaint will then be discussed with the submitter and the board will meet and discuss as well.
Rule Infractions
While on duty, the lifeguard and/or Board Member will have full authority to enforce the pool and recreation rules.
If a pool member violates any of the rules, the lifeguard on duty and/or Board Member can restrict the member from the use of the pool and recreation area for one entire day. A notice will be sent to the parents if the swimmer is a minor.
Tampering with all pool equipment is deemed a serious offense. No person shall, without privilege to do so, knowingly move, deface, damage, destroy, or otherwise improperly tamper with the property of another. If this is a minor, parents will be contacted to discuss the problem and reinstatement procedures of the pool and recreation area.
Arguing with a lifeguard will not be tolerated. Any member having a problem with a lifeguard must contact a CMRA Board Member.
